Yokohama promotes Oishi

Takao Oishi promoted to Corporate Officer of Yokohama Rubber Company

Fullerton, CA-based Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) has announced that Takao Oishi will be promoted to corporate officer of its parent firm, the Yokohama Rubber Co. (YRC) of Japan, effective June 27, 2008.

This is the second promotion this year for Oishi, who assumed the role of president & CEO of YTC on April 1st. He succeeded Norio Karashima, who was promoted to managing corporate officer earlier this year, and also effective June 27th, to director & senior managing corporate officer of YRC, which is headquartered in Tokyo. Oishi will continue to be based in Fullerton, where he will retain oversight of YTC.

Oishi joined YTC in 2007 as executive vp, responsible for MIS, OE sales, strategic marketing and operations. He previously served as president of Yokohama Europe and lived in Dusseldorf, Germany.

YTC is the North American manufacturing and marketing arm of YRC, a global producer and distributor of tires since 1917.
