YRC Freight, a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide, has named Maynard Skarka to the new position of chief operations officer. Skarka will be responsible for strategic planning and lead the day-to-day operations of the network team.
He will report directly to YRC Freight president, Jeff Rogers.
Skarka was most recently president of Dynamex, a transportation logistics company, headquartered in Dallas, TX. Previously, he served as president of Yellow Transportation and before that served as division vice president during the 26 years he was with the company.
“Maynard is a recognized leader in trucking network operations and it is a pleasure to welcome him back to the team,” said Rogers. “Our service levels are improving month over month and our newly optimized network is up and running. Maynard has the experience and proven track record to build on these improvements as we work to regain our status as a leader in the North American LTL industry.”
“It will be exciting to be back at YRC Freight and I look forward to working with the team to take our company to the next level,” said Skarka. “The new leadership team has the right focus on core North American LTL operations. We will build on the recent improvements in customer service and network efficiencies and will do so with the best team of LTL trucking professionals in the business.”
