Celadon unveils two new driver initiatives

Sept. 18, 2015
One aims to lock in wages, the other centers on a new mobile app.

Trucking conglomerate Celadon Group is rolling out two new driver programs focused on pay and communication needs.

First, the carrier said its new WageLock pay program – which officially activates Nov. 1 this year – will allow company drivers who meet specific requirements to “lock in” up to $1,000 per week, regardless of how many miles they drive, noted Matt Douglass, Celadon’s VP of operations.

"We want to compensate our company drivers who do their jobs every day and pay them in situations where there's not freight available for them to get miles," he added in a statement.

Celadon’s second new program, FleetWire, is being introduced in partnership with Pegasus TransTech to provide drivers with a highly flexible all-in-one smartphone application that offers document scanning, load tendering and messaging, among other features.

Steve Edmonds, Celadon’s VP-information technology, added that FleetWire integrates with the carrier’s “Driver Portal,” which gives drivers instant access to key information, including company news, safety information, training tools and messages. FleetWire will also give drivers the ability to manage workflow outside of the cab of the truck, including the ability to see pre-planned loads and the load they are currently dispatched on, he said.
