Schneider names Mark Rourke executive vice president

Schneider has named Mark Rourke executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Schneider president and CEO Chris Lofgren announced that he has named Mark Rourke executive vice president and chief operating officer of the 80-year-old transportation, intermodal and logistics company. In his role, Rourke will be accountable for the day-to-day operations of the company with all North American service offerings now reporting up through him, according to the company.“While Mark will now oversee our day-to-day operations, I will focus more time on the strategic growth of our business and long-term positioning,” Lofgren said. “Additionally, as the regulatory and compliance environment continually evolves, it requires more external engagement. I will work closely with our Government Affairs team at both the federal and state levels to ensure that the interests of our company and industry are promoted and protected.”Lofgren noted that the changes to the company’s leadership structure will help set the course for the organization’s strategic positioning.“Schneider is looking to grow both organically and through acquisition to increase its market share,” he explained. “This new structure will enable that and accelerate our ability to create value for customers, associates and our business.”Rourke joined Schneider in 1987. During his 28 years with the company, he has held a variety of leadership roles, including president of Truckload Services, general manager of Schneider Transportation Management, vice president of customer service and director of driver training.
