At the end of October, the final rulemaking mandating Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) for all but exempt fleets is expected to be published and the years-long wait-and-see period will be over. It will be time to comply. Since regulators first began working on the rulemaking, however, technology has moved far ahead. Now fleets can chose to take advantage of a number of other ELD-related capabilities that are not required, but could take their businesses to the next level in terms of operational efficiency, service and profitability. That means even more changes, though, and change is always tough.Fleet Owner is offering a free webinar, “ELDs: Should you go beyond basic compliance,” on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. PDT. Todd Davis, president of Davis Transfer, and Luke Olin, director of transportation at Upper Lakes Foods, will discuss what they decided was the best approach to the ELD mandate for their fleets and what happened as a result. Their experiences can help you to decide just how far to go into deploying telematics solutions in your own operation and what to expect.Register today for this free webinar presented by Fleet Owner and sponsored by Omnitracs.
