California Truck Centers adds new full-service dealership

Sept. 27, 2021
Located in Santa Maria, California, the dealership is now a 40,000 sq.-ft. full service center for Freightliner and Western Star vehicles.

California Truck Centers has upgraded its Central Coast Truck Center dealership in Santa Maria, California, from a small storefront to a 40,000-sq.-ft. full-service Freightliner and Western Star dealership on West Stowell Road.

With the rising demand for trucking on California’s Central Coast, the full-size dealership comes at an opportune time for local businesses looking to expand their fleets and services. The new facility will also help the area’s employment rate as hiring for their admin, sales, parts, and service departments kicks in.

The new Santa Maria store is situated near major fruit and vegetable packing houses, or what locals call "coolers," just off Highway 101 and near Highway 166. According to the company, this new location is easily accessible and is serving drivers needing service or repair with 14 service bays, a chassis dynamometer, and nearly $1 million in OEM parts inventory.

These expansions also have led to additional career opportunities for the Central Coast. The original Central Coast Truck Center employed around 20 employees, but with the new expansion it expects to employ about 50 more in the next year. With heavy emphasis on journeyman service technicians, technician apprentices, and more, employment growth is critical.

All full-time employees are eligible to receive full medical benefits, profit-sharing for retirement, competitive wages, vacation, and paid holidays. In-house training simplifies the certification process for techs with a tool program to assist them.
