The new Santa Maria store is situated near major fruit and vegetable packing houses, or what locals call "coolers," just off Highway 101 and near Highway 166. According to the company, this new location is easily accessible and is serving drivers needing service or repair with 14 service bays, a chassis dynamometer, and nearly $1 million in OEM parts inventory.
These expansions also have led to additional career opportunities for the Central Coast. The original Central Coast Truck Center employed around 20 employees, but with the new expansion it expects to employ about 50 more in the next year. With heavy emphasis on journeyman service technicians, technician apprentices, and more, employment growth is critical.
