Continental
The latest North American long-haul drive tire from Continental Tire the Americas features fuel-efficiency technology. The Conti HDL 3 EP combines high-structure carbon black and silica technology to deliver rolling resistance and durability. With a polymer matrix-bound silica compound, it achieves up to 10% better rolling resistance and is SmartWay verified for Class 8 long-haul trucks. The Conti HDL 3 EP was built on 3G Casing for maximum retreadability, and its performance is designed to help fleets keep costs down. Its closed-shoulder design enhances mileage and rolling resistance, while its optimized footprint ensures even wear, Continental said. Innovative groove geometry reduces stone retention, and the tire offers up to 15% improved cut and chip resistance.
Firestone
Bridgestone Americas rolled out the Firestone-branded Transforce HT3 tire for heavy-duty trucks and the CV2 for last-mile delivery vans. Both tires are engineered to provide commercial highway vehicles with wet-weather performance, low-speed refinement, and high-speed handling. The Transforce HT3 tire comes in LT sizing for heavy-duty trucks. It includes a high rim diameter between 16 and 20 in. and provides an off-shoulder sidewall design with noise abatement, as well as a tread design compound to resist irregular wear. The HT3 includes reinforced interlocking 3D sipes for uniform stiffness and resiliency, and the open shoulder slots and high see-through void accelerate water evacuation from the pattern. The CV2 also has interlocking sipes for uniform tread stiffness for resiliency, and it has an open shoulder design and high see-through void to accelerate water away from the tread pattern.
Double Coin
The EPA SmartWay-verified FR610 from Double Coin Tires offers a low-rolling-resistance steer-position truck tire built for multiple applications. Its siping and defense grooves allow for upgraded traction and long, even wear. The durable casing construction of the FR610 tire resists fatigue and delivers a lower cost of ownership through multiple retreads. A tread depth of 20/32 in. with an equalizer rib in the channel promotes long original mileage. A seven year/three retread warranty offers longer service life and lower maintenance costs, according to the company.
General
General Tire offers two 19.5-in. all-position tires, the RA 2 and RD 2, designed for regional and last-mile delivery use. Both tires feature durable tread compounds for enhanced mileage and mud and snow designations, suitable for on-/off-highway and pickup and delivery applications. The General RD 2’s open shoulder tread with a tie bar enhances traction, while the 18/32nd aggressive tread ensures all-weather performance. The General RA 2’s scuff rib resists curbing and abrasions, and its 16/32nd tread provides extended mileage with a closed shoulder design for even wear and less road noise, according to the manufacturer.
