Milk co-op buys out Keller's Creamery

Kansas City MO-based Dairy Farmers of America has acquired Keller's Creamery LP from its partners in a buyout. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Kansas City MO-based Dairy Farmers of America has acquired Keller's Creamery LP from its partners in a buyout. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

A producer of butter for foodservice, retail, and industrial use, Keller's was created in May 2000 as a joint venture between Dairy Farmers and Frank Otis and Glenn Millar, the onetime management team of the French-owned dairy firm Sodiaal North America Corp.

Dairy Farmers, the largest milk marketing cooperative in the United States, represents nearly 23,000 dairy farm families in 47 states. It markets and supplies milk, cheese, formulated dairy beverages, dairy ingredients, and food components.

Keller's offices, warehouse, and distribution center are in Harleysville PA and its butter processing plant is in Winnsboro TX.
