Covenant parent firm gets a new identity

Covenant Transport Inc's stockholders approved an amendment to the company's articles of incorporation that will change the name of the parent corporation

Covenant Transport Inc's stockholders approved an amendment to the company's articles of incorporation that will change the name of the parent corporation to Covenant Transportation Group Inc. David R Parker, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of the firm, said, “The name change is symbolic of our corporate leadership's focus on managing all of our operating units as independent businesses.”

Besides the name change, Covenant has promoted Joey B Hogan to senior executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Covenant Transportation Group Inc. Hogan also has been named president of Covenant Transport Inc, the company's largest operating subsidiary.

The Covenant holding company includes operations of Southern Refrigerated Transport of Texarkana AR, Covenant Transport and Covenant Transport Solutions of Chattanooga TN, and Star Transportation of Nashville TN.
