Transportation, warehouse, and logistics services provider Hanson Cold Storage has changed its name to Hanson Logistics, effective Feb 1, 2005.
Established in 1954, the Benton Harbor MI-based firm built its reputation for temperature-controlled warehousing mainly in southern Michigan. It acquired and expanded a Lafayette IN deep frozen distribution center in the late 1990s as its base for consolidation and less-than-truckload (LTL) distribution services.
In 2004, Hanson formed a separate logistics division and began offering outbound transportation from its eight warehouses, which have a total of 32 million cubic feet of space. It will start providing scheduled temperature-controlled consolidation and LTL distribution throughout the Midwest early this year.
