Frozen Assets Cold Storage has implemented Headwater Technology Solutons' Freight Logix transportation management system (TMS) for its transportation brokerage operations.

The Chicago-based storage firm runs a 250,000-square-foot, 7 million-cu-ft facility with an 18,000-pallet freezer, a 10,000-pallet-position cooler, and three -35 degree blast cells. This facility has 48 truck bays and a 40,000-sq-ft refrigerated dock.

Freight Logix automates functions such as order entry through dispatch, rating, invoicing, driver and carrier settlement, and finance. Automatic population of fields stops redundant data entry and results in fewer errors. It manages revenue and costs for any part of the transportation operation.

The Windows-based system integrates seamlessly with the Linux/Unix-based SmartEnterprise system. This lets the company establish its own carrier profiles, including routes and rates, and search the system for the best answer to any shipping issues.
