Great Dane acquires Strick Trailer plants

Great Dane Limited Partnership announced officially Jan 21, 2002, that the company has acquired the eastern van manufacturing facilities of Strick Trailer Corp. These facilities are in Danville PA and Abbeville SC. Acquisition of the Danville plant will enable Great Dane to serve its customers better in the northeastern United States, as well as Canada. Until the acquisition, Great Dane plants had been concentrated in the Southeast and Midwest.

The Danville facility will be retooled and upgraded to build Great Dane Trailers. Plans are still being finalized for the Abbeville facility.
