Michigan-based Gordon Food Service (GFS) has signed a contract to equip its United States fleet with Mobius TTS onboard computers and POD software from Cadec Corp.
By combining this onboard computer and a handheld device with POD software, drivers can now automate routine activities in and out of the truck. POD's features include electronic manifest, detailed delivery information, printed delivery receipts, up-to-the-minute invoice updates, product verification, electronic payment, reconciliation, and signature capture.
Included in the software is an Onboard Delivery Coach (ODC). This proactive driver alert software reviews the actions of the driver throughout the delivery process, from preparation to completion. If a driver attempts to deliver an incorrect product or a product planned for another stop, the ODC will alert the driver to the error. Should the delivery have an overage, shortage, or damaged goods, the driver can make the appropriate changes to the invoice before noting the payment method. Instant proof of delivery is obtained when the customer signature is captured electronically.
