Ozburn-Hessey Logistics (OHL), a Nashville TN-based logistics and supply chain management company, has acquired Madison IL-based Lanter Logistics and Lanter Refrigerated Distributing.

With the acquisition, OHL now controls 17 million square feet of warehouse space in 20 states and projects it will move more than 500 million pounds of freight this year. This would make it the eighth-largest domestic third-party logistics provider in the United States.

With more than two million square feet of temperature-controlled storage, Lanter operates a fleet of 150-plus temperature-controlled trucks.

The new company will make its corporate headquarters in Nashville. Scott McWilliams will remain chief executive officer, while Lanter president and CEO Steve Lanter joins the OHL management team as executive vice-president. Combined, the two companies employ about 2,400 associates.
