Preferred Freezer Services (PFS), a global leader in advanced design and engineered temperature-controlled warehouses, celebrated a facility groundbreaking in Kearny NJ recently.
This new facility will be the company’s ninth in the New Jersey area and its 38th in the United States. The Kearny facility will satisfy demand for modern and efficient cold storage warehousing services, exceeding reach to the northern New Jersey and Manhattan markets.
The warehouse is well-positioned to access the George Washington Bridge and Lincoln Tunnel, with easy on and off turnpike access. Scheduled to open in summer 2018, the facility will be located where Interstate 95 and I-280 meet, with proximity to Exit 15W.
The facility will cover more than 190,000 square feet with a storage capacity near 30,000 pallets. The completed warehouse will consist of 24 dock doors. Consistency and product integrity will be sustained by a full on-site generator backup.
This warehouse will offer USDA import and export capability, in addition to a multi-purpose room for additional value-added services.
“We are excited to provide additional superior cold storage space in our flagship New Jersey market,” said Brian Beattie, president of Preferred Freezer Services. “We look forward to offering our Preferred Services to customers that will be able to take advantage of this great location.”
