The World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO) recently named the recipients of WFLO Institute East Scholarships for 2020.
Eric Berglin, manager of carrier relations at Hanson Logistics, and Elizabeth Corey, risk and food safety supervisor for Americold Logistics, were recognized on stage during the opening session of the Institute East program in Atlanta GA.
Recipients are selected based on performance, leadership skills and dedication to the industry. The scholarship program is sponsored by RefrigiWear, Dalkia Energy Solutions and Alta Refrigeration.
“Providing education and training opportunities for promising cold storage industry executives is a top priority for WFLO,” said Megan Costello, interim president and CEO.
Corey is responsible for initiating and enforcing food safety programs at Americold.
“My experience at WFLO Institute has been fantastic and I want to thank everyone at Americold, as well as the sponsoring organizations who made this possible,” she said. “I know that winning this opportunity will help me continue to learn, grow and excel; not only professionally, but personally as well.”
Berglin thanked Hanson for nominating him for the award.
“The WFLO Institute has been a great learning opportunity to advance my knowledge of the cold chain logistics industry,” he said. “I appreciate ALTA Refrigeration, Dalkia Energy Solutions and RefrigiWear for their support of the program.”
