Agile Cold Storage and Ti Cold recently broke ground on a new cold storage facility in Pearl River, Louisiana.
This is Agile’s second Ti Cold-designed building. The first one, located in Macon, Georgia, was completed last month, the companies reported.
“We gave Agile our best in Macon and it obviously made an impression,” Sam Tippmann, Ti Cold president, said in a news release. “We couldn’t be more excited to start this new project in Pearl River.
“Strategically located, Agile will bring increased opportunity to the New Orleans area.”
The new 120,000-sq.-ft. cold storage complex will be located at the 130-year-old St. Joe’s Brick Works site. The structure will feature 50-ft. ceiling heights and a flexible, convertible design that maintains temperatures from 40 degrees Fahrenheit to minus-10 degrees F. “Members of the food industry around New Orleans are going to benefit greatly from Agile and the facility we’re building,” Tippmann added.
The building also will boast an environmentally friendly, low-charge ammonia system that uses natural refrigerant in low volumes, Ti indcated. Structural steel pallet racks will accommodate over 16,500 pallet positions.
The facility is expected to open for business in early 2025.
“From the bayous to the bustling cities, our new warehouse in Louisiana is not just bricks and steel,” said Don Schoenl, Agile president and CEO. “It’s a testament to our growth and dedication to serving this incredible region with efficiency and pride.”
