Brent Redmond Transportation is a refrigerated truckload carrier based in Hollister CA. A key freight partner for Safeway, it services retail divisions in California, Arizona, and the Pacific Northwest across multiple temperature control categories, including fresh produce, ice cream, and general perishables.

Safeway chose Brent Redmond Transportation for this award based on the carrier’s customer service excellence, stellar 2010 on-time performance record, focus on innovation, and commitment to environmental sustainability. In 2010, Brent Redmond Transportation partnered with Safeway on an integrated communication strategy to provide near real-time location tracking of their trucks in transit. The carrier also made significant investments in refrigerated trailer technology and temperature monitoring, improvements that have enhanced its cold chain execution and overall service offering.

Brent Redmond Transportation was also recognized in 2010 as a top Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWay Transport carrier based on its overall performance scoring. The carrier’s ongoing programs aimed at improving miles per gallon and reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are aligned with Safeway’s carbon emissions reduction program and overall social responsibility initiatives.
