StarTrak Information Technologies LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of ORBCOMM Inc (Nasdaq: ORBC), announced that carrier Prime Inc has begun broad deployment of Sentry, StarTrak’s two-way communication refrigerated transportation management system.
“Adding Prime Inc to our customer base is a significant milestone for StarTrak. The initial deployment of more than 1,500 systems by year-end in addition to the depth of our relationship with Prime represents a strong partnership with a leader in refrigerated transportation,” said David Gsell, general manager of StarTrak.
The assets of StarTrak Information Technologies LLC were acquired May 17, 2011, from Alanco Technologies Inc by ORBCOMM Inc. This acquisition positions ORBCOMM to help grow the StarTrak business and introduce its technology to ORBCOMM’s global distribution channels while building next-generation services for complementary vertical markets.
