Vehicle Tracking Solutions (VTS) has announced the launch of its most recent Silent Passenger fleet management GPS platform innovation: SP LogBook.
As of December 2017, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will require all vehicle fleets to implement a federally approved electronic logging devices (ELDs) for capturing and reporting hours of service (HOS). It also mandates the phasing out of automatic on-board recording devices (AOBRDs) no later than December 16, 2019.
The enhanced SP LogBook is specifically designed to help fleet operators ensure they are compliant with the ELD mandate while simultaneously delivering fleet efficiency, cost savings and safety functionality.
“Our goal as a fleet management software company is always to design and deploy fleet management solutions that deliver an optimal user experience; all while ensuring the operational returns and savings can be quantified in dollars and cents,” said John M Cunningham, president and chief executive officer of VTS. “I am pleased to say we have accomplished that with our enhanced ELD offering. Our customers will now be able to achieve FMSCA ELD compliance while improving their overall fleet management operations.”
“The transition to electronic HOS logging is a big change to businesses that have always kept handwritten logs, but there isn’t any reason to feel intimidated or overwhelmed,” said Ryan Wilkinson, chief technology officer at VTS. “We specifically kept these individuals in mind when developing SP LogBook, and we were able to develop a product that’s intuitive and easy to use.”
