New officers and directors of the International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA) were announced during a board of directors meeting that took place at the Global Cold Chain Expo in Chicago IL recently.

Robert Fay (president, Florida Freezer, Fort Myers FL) was elected as the 2017-2018 chairman of IRTA. Debbie McDowell (director of business development and customer service, Seaonus, Jacksonville FL) was elected vice-chairman and Todd Lanter (director of transportation, Henningsen Transportation Services, Scranton PA) was elected treasurer.

“The work accomplished by the IRTA board in the past few years has been remarkable,” said Fay. “With the release of the new Refrigerated Transportation Best Practices Guide, they have put IRTA and its members at the leading edge of convening key stakeholders and creating tangible resources that address regulations and will make our industry stronger. My predecessor left some big shoes to fill, and I’m excited to jump in alongside such a hard-working group of change-makers.”

New board members elected to three-year terms include: Scott McIntosh (senior vice-president and general manager, VersaCold–North America Transportation Solutions, Surrey, British Columbia), Richard Patenaude (director of logistics, Congebec Logistics Inc, Mississauga, Ontario), Ned Runser (operations manager, Hall’s Warehouse Corp, South Plainfield NJ), Brian Webb (senior vice-president, business development, J B Hunt, Lowell AZ), and Brandon Woods (vice-president, Refrigerated Transport Inc, Fort Worth TX).

Re-elected to three-year terms were: Greg Bryan (senior vice-president, transportation, Lineage Logistics, Irvine CA), Barbara Pratt (director, Maersk Line, Florham Park NJ), Chris Mnichowski (president, CTI Freight Systems, Bucyrus KS), Keith Mowery (vice-president, transportation & logistics, United States Cold Storage Inc, Voorhees NJ), and Eric Olafson (associate director for global trade, Port Miami, Miami FL).
