Crown hand pallet truck elevates 2,200-lb loads

Crown Equipment Corporation has introduced the Crown PTH 50S Model scissor lift hand pallet truck designed for applications using skids and open-bottom containers. It functions as a hand pallet truck and mobile work positioner that is suitable for a variety of workplace environments, including retail and manufacturing. The PTH 50S is now available in North America and Latin America.
Operators can elevate 2,200-pound loads up to 31.5 inches by using the handle to actuate the hydraulic lift. The PTH 50S features heavy-gauge steel forks and scissor legs that are stronger and more durable than other designs. The hydraulic pump is life-tested to more than one million pump cycles to ensure troublefree operation and long life. The truck’s steer and load wheels are engineered with high-quality compounds and bearings that lower rolling resistance and provide smooth, quiet operation for long-lasting performance. A 200-degree steering angle makes maneuvering in tight areas easier.
Dayton Freight Lines Inc, a private LTL freight carrier, uses the PTH 50 Series, which is part of the same family of pallet trucks as the PTH 50S, in its operation. The company currently has about 700 of the PTH 50 Series pallet trucks in its 44 facilities across the Midwest.
“The Crown PTH is a durable pallet truck that stands up to the wear and tear of our facilities,” said Dave Fast, vice-president of maintenance at Dayton Freight. “Our employees like using them, and I especially like that replacement parts are readily available to ensure any repair needs we have are quickly met. We are very happy with the performance of the Crown PTH; in fact, I recently ordered another six trucks for our operation.”
This heavy-duty pallet truck has an ergonomic handle design that minimizes operator fatigue. The convenient control lever has three positions (raise, neutral, and lower) that can be easily operated with one finger. The neutral position eliminates pressure from the pump and allows the handle to move freely. When operators release the spring-loaded handle, it automatically returns to a vertical position.
