Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc (MCFA), the provider of Jungheinrich lift trucks and narrow aisle products, has announced a two-shift operating guarantee, with no battery changing necessary between two shifts. This guarantee for North America minimizes downtime and saves energy, while lowering customers’ operating costs.

“We are confidently able to provide a two-shift guarantee because of Jungheinrich’s formidable technological advances and energy-efficient product design,” said Kent Eudy, executive vice-president of sales and marketing at MCFA.

“The highly efficient control technology, state-of-the-art motor technology and effective energy management on Jungheinrich’s electric products eliminate the need for battery charging between the first and second shift,” he said, “ultimately increasing the operators’ pick rates and productivity during the work day, while also eliminating the need to change batteries between shifts. In the unlikely event of underperformance, MCFA will provide the customer with a second battery absolutely free.”

Jungheinrich trucks are designed to retain high levels of energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption via highly efficient motors and optimized controllers. The result of this precise engineering is that Jungheinrich models can operate for two shifts or 16 hours on one battery charge.

Charging batteries costs more than lost time between shifts. Depending on fleet size, costs associated with water, battery cleaning and additional battery charging stations are eliminated, reducing battery-charging costs by up to 50%. The ability to run for two shifts on one battery charge also eliminates the need for an extra battery.

The two-shift guarantee is offered on several Jungheinrich models, including a range of mid- to high-level order pickers, pantograph reach trucks, three-wheel electric counterbalanced and electric pneumatic tire forklifts.

This range of products is also covered by a one-year/2,000-hour warranty that includes parts and labor, as well as components and systems; and a two-year/4,000-hour extended powertrain warranty. All Jungheinrich products are backed by the Parts Fast or Parts Free Guarantee that ensures next-business-day delivery by 5 pm of Jungheinrich parts, or the parts are free, including freight, in the United States. For customers in Canada and Mexico, the guarantee ensures shipping of parts within 24 hours from when the order was placed.
