Discover more about Trillium installing an on-site solar system at the Love’s Travel Stop in Santa Nella CA recently.

Trillium, one of the nation’s leading providers of alternative fuels systems and renewable fuels and member of the Love’s Family of Companies, installed an on-site solar system at the Love’s Travel Stop in Santa Nella CA recently.

The system, which is Trillium’s first solar installation, began energizing and generating electricity for the travel stop in November, offsetting a large percentage of the travel stop’s electricity consumption.

Trillium designed and built the solar system at the Love’s location in California, making it the second Love’s location to run off solar power. Love’s first solar system was installed at its Las Vegas NV location in 2016. The new ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) system at Santa Nella will generate more than 300,000 kilowatt-hours annually, which is 30 times the average household usage.

“On-site power generation is rapidly gaining popularity due to its low effect on the environment and ability to save Customers money,” said Bill Cashmareck, managing director of Trillium. “Trillium is excited to continue leading the way in innovative solutions for the transportation industry. The company provides customers with alternative fuel and micro-grid power economical solutions that make it easy for commercial and public fleets to transition to cleaner-burning fuels and augment their energy supply with a more cost-effective low-carbon alternative.”

Trillium will continue to design and build on-site solar projects for additional Love’s Travel Stop locations in California and Illinois in 2019. In addition to solar projects, Trillium will install an EV charging station at the Santa Nella location and additional Love’s locations in the future to support the needs of its growing Customer base.

Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores has more than 470 locations in 41 states. Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Oklahoma City OK, the company remains family-owned and operated and employs more than 22,000 people. Love’s has more than 250 on-site Truck Tire Care centers and more than 50 Speedco locations.
