The new Scania trucks will be operated in the fleet for four to five years, during which time each truck is expected to accumulate up to 800,000 kilometers (497,097 miles). They feature a large cab with two beds, premium infotainment system and extensive safety package.
With two 340- and 400-liter capacity tanks (89.8 to 106 gallons), the trucks will have a range of up to 1,100 kilometers (684 miles). Fuel provider Liquind 24/7 is expected to have permanent liquified gas filling stations in place by this summer at Wustermark and Stavenhagen, which also will be open to all customers. The liquified vehicle gas infrastructure in Germany is now gradually being expanded and will increase to approximately 20 filling stations by the end of 2019.
KP Logistik, a Danish third-generation family business, has a staff of 400 and a fleet of 150 Scania trucks.
The company’s new Scanias will be delivered with a full-service maintenance contract, Scania said. The dealer, LKW-Center-Petersen in Stavenhagen, has prepared its workshop and trained its service technicians in the safe handling of liquefied gas.
“We are seeing an ever-increasing interest in our gas vehicles, and the order from KP Logistik is the largest so far,” said Christian Hottgenroth, Scania’s truck sales director for Germany and Austria.
