DeltaTrak offering data logger, telematics for TATS materials

DeltaTrak's FlashLink -80°C In-Transit Data Logger is designed for time and temperature sensitive materials.

DeltaTrak says its FlashLink -80°C In-Transit Data Logger is designed for dry ice shipments of carbon fiber prepreg rolls and other time and temperature sensitive (TATS) materials.

The cold chain management solutions company also offers the FlashTrak Telematics Out-Time Solution, which is designed to eliminate manual monitoring of TATS materials and calculate remaining shelf life based on cumulative time spent outside of cold storage.

The “plug-and-play” data logger is a single-use temperature logger that travels with a product through the cold chain, continuously monitoring and recording temperature conditions during shipping, storage and handling. An integrated USB adapter and onboard software automatically generate PDF and Excel data tables.

And DeltaTrak’s telematics solution automates monitoring to provide timely alerts when action is required, the company said.

“Both the FlashLink USB -80°C In-Transit Data Logger and FlashTrak Telematics Out-Time Solution give receivers immediate access to temperature data so they know to what conditions their TATS materials have been exposed, either outside of cold storage or from the time they leave the manufacturer until they reach their final destination,” said Frederick Wu, president and CEO of DeltaTrak.

“Since the in-transit loggers specifically have a USB connector, you don’t need a cradle, adapter or any special reading device to download the data.”

Trip history is captured as PDF reports so users can share data globally, 24/7, with the option to use a secure account on DeltaTrak’s ColdTrak Data Central cloud-based service, DeltaTrak said. Reports are archived for analysis, audits and to comply with regulatory guidelines. These records enable users to verify TATS materials haven’t been compromised, reducing time spent re-testing questionable product and preventing “hundreds of thousands” of dollars in TATS materials from being scrapped. Customers are able to maintain complete records for traceability and shelf life to help ensure quality and structural integrity of carbon fiber parts and products.
