Solar TRU provider adds AllCell batteries
A “leading provider” of solar-powered transport refrigeration units (TRU) recently added Beam Global’s Beam AllCell energy storage system.
The global refrigerated trailer market size was valued at $4.2 billion in 2023 and is expected to grow to $6.3 billion by 2030, according to forecasters, with North America and Europe experiencing steady growth in clean technology solutions for the industry driven by government initiatives and increasing consumer awareness.
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) in partnership with CALSTART recently launched the Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE) to encourage California companies to purchase or lease currently commercialized zero-emission freight equipment by providing a “streamlined” voucher process to offset the higher cost of such technologies. TRUs are eligible for CORE funding, which, when combined with diesel savings, can create economic incentives for owners and operators.
“This order is another example of the diverse opportunities for growth afforded to Beam Global by our expansion into the energy storage space,” Beam Global CEO Desmond Wheatley said in a news release.
“Beam AllCell energy storage solutions are the ideal choice for the superior performance that our customers demand and we intend to continue to uncover new opportunities to grow our revenues through the increasing electrification of all aspects of transportation.”
