Tire maker’s 255/70 R22.5 in load range H features 16/32nds of tread depth for enhanced performance in high-scrub situations and long-haul applications.

Continental Tire recently introduced a size extension for its Conti Hybrid HT3 tire.

The new 255/70 R22.5 HT3 in load range H features a 16/32nds tread depth for improved performance better in a variety of applications, including high-scrub situations, Continental said. This product will replace the Conti EcoPlus HT3.

The new size is for beverage haulers and other long-haul and regional applications.

The Hybrid HT3 255/70R 22.5 was created to support the extra load of the vehicle while withstanding the abuse these wheel positions face. As a lift and tag axle position tire, the robust compound and design is intended to withstand the high-scrub situations tires in these applications typically see.

The tread pattern is designed to withstand abrasions and features a fuel-efficient compounding that allows for lower rolling resistance and heat buildup in service, and wears 26% better than the EcoPlus HT3, Continental reported. As with the other tires in the lineup, the Hybrid HT3 is Smartway verified. The size extension also has a matching winged retread to make it more robust when retreaded.
