Terry Spradley, a photographer with St. John News, captured some amazing photos revealing the tiny bit of a truck that was still visible after the rig became buried in tons of corn following an accident at a grain elevator in Stafford County, KS, last week. The shots can be viewed here.
The incident occurred at the Dillwyn Elevator in St. John, KS, around 1 p.m. Thursday when a truck driver accidentally struck a loading shoot on the elevator, causing the corn in the silo to pour out and completely bury the tractor-trailer rig.
The truck driver was able to scramble to safety before his rig was engulfed in corn. The driver and the trucking company were not identified.
Officials expected it to take at least four days to clean up the spill.
