Attendees at the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) conference in Rosemont IL this October will have the opportunity to see technologies developed to help manage the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) systems that will be required for most engine makers to comply with U.S. 2010 emissions standards.

Among these suppliers will be the French company, Rayconnect International, SAS, which is introducing a new range of self-heating fluid connectors intended to assist in keeping onboard DEF tubing above -11°C to prevent the urea-based fluid used in the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) process from freezing under certain conditions.

According to the company, the goal of the new system is to minimize energy consumption and reduce the circuit heating time to offer a more economical alternative to externally heated connector systems. Rayconnect, whose U.S. headquarters are in Rochester Hills, MI, will be exhibiting in the Truck Tech France Pavilion, Booth 607.
