Fleets using the SkyBitz satellite-based trailer tracking system can now alter reporting schedules remotely based on changing customer or monitoring needs. The new reporting feature allows fleets to use the system's web-based management tool to change the number of times per day a trailer reports its location.

SkyBitz says the new feature might be used to monitor high value cargo more closely or to increase security when a trailer enters a high crime area.

The company has also introduced message packages with volume discounts to complement the new option for additional location reporting over its two-way wireless satellite system.
