Fleet management system designed for multiple devices

Nov. 20, 2013

An updated fleet management system from Prova Systems is said to be responsive for easy use on smartphones, tablets or PCs.

Fleet Genius Pro version 2.0 is a web-based system that works seamlessly on any Internet browser- capable smartphone, tablet or computer. The new software release is available immediately to existing Fleet Genius customers. The upgrade is free for existing users of the system.

The Fleet Genius web interface has been completed redesigned to support the needs of mobile fleet managers. Every screen formats itself to the customer’s device making it possible to view fleet status while on the road and act on outstanding fleet management needs without the need for a desktop computer. It supports any device with a web browser and works on the most popular iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and Blackberry devices.

The new release also offers a new trip tracking interface that highlights and summarizes every trip on a daily basis. Customers can view trip information by vehicle or driver and see highlighted information such as average speed vs. max speed, trip duration and idling time, distance and fuel efficiency for the trip.

Also, the maintenance tracking system has been simplified into a single page per vehicle making it quicker and easier to find outstanding preventive maintenance items, assign work orders to vendors and record maintenance activity.

The system also supports fuel receipt tracking making it easier to track fuel expenses and odometer readings without a fuel card system. The fuel receipts can also be entered using a smartphone making it possible to record these expenses as they are incurred at the fueling station.

“We decided to redesign the interface from the ground up because our small and medium business customers have been telling us the supporting their fleet management from a desktop wasn’t meeting their needs,” said John Collins, president. ”Our SME customers were very clear that they work on the road meeting their customers and they needed a system that was 100% mobile accessible. We opted to build a 100% responsive system instead of a typical mobile app with limited functionality so that every feature is available to them on their mobile devices 24x7.”
