NASHVILLE, Tennessee—Transportation management software provider Magnus Technologies showcased its new AI-powered enhancements during Truckload 2024.

The Magnus TMS can provide fleets with better clarity and foresight when planning loads, which gives users better freight and capacity visibility in their planning regions up to five days in advance, according to Jay Delaney, Magnus product management director.

The platform's metrics, views, and forecasting tools help users plan their freight networks and optimize their resources. It also provides maps showing weather, traffic, and more.

“What I've seen is customers don't know what they don't know,” Delaney told FleetOwner during the Truckload Carriers Association’s annual conference here in Opryland. “They don't know they have a problem until it's too late to react to it. And through my years of doing this, I've seen and observed this behavior over and over again and thought there's got to be a better way to solve that problem.”

To address the problem, Magnus focused on visibility that looks up to five days in advance so fleets can see if they are over- or under-extended. “The further out I can go and give you that visibility, the more options you would have to solve that problem in a revenue-generating process rather than an expense,” Delaney said.

Magnus also increasing EDI and freight visibility

Magnus Technologies introduced Magnus EDI Manager, a new system allowing users to create rules for automatically accepting customer load tenders through electronic data interchange and other data exchange methods. The system provides visibility into network balance, lane guidance, and customer volume commitments, enabling companies to make informed decisions when accepting or declining orders, resulting in optimized operations and improved efficiency.

In addition, Magnus announced enhancements to its Customer Tracking Portal, enabling fleets to provide greater transparency and end-to-end visibility of shipments. The portal includes accurate shipment ETA predictions based on comprehensive variables.

Magnus also added new truckload rate calculations and accessorial charges to the TMS platform, hourly driver pay, and new yard check capabilities that support dropped trailers with visibility of cargo and location status.

Subscribers to the Magnus Platform receive these and other ongoing updates and enhancements at no additional cost.
