Upgraded Eaton shifters now offered by Freightliner

The Cobra style shifter from Eaton Corp. is now available on select Freightliner vocational truck models equipped with an Eaton UltraShift Plus automated manual transmission. The Eaton Cobra shifter is an upgrade to the standard Eaton shifter, Eaton explained.
The Cobra Shifter is now available as an option through the Freightliner Corporate PDI / Custom Truck Services facilities on Freightliner’s vocational family of trucks, which includes the 108SD, 114SD and Coronado 122SD.
“Our Cobra shifter has become increasingly popular with Freightliner’s vocational customers,” said Michael Holahan, sales manager for Eaton. “It is the perfect complement to the 108SD, 114SD and 122SD chassis and has been requested by some Cascadia buyers.”
According to Eaton, features of the Cobra shifter include a newly designed boot that completely seals and isolates the electronics package from cab spills, dust and other debris, and improved fiber optic lighting that allows drivers to quickly and easily glance at the gearing selections.
