Aug. 25, 2014

Mack Trucks has unveiled its latest MP engine, the 13L MP8 505C+. The 505-hp. powerplant produces 1,860 lbs.-ft. of torque and is ideal for long-haul applications requiring extra power due to mountainous terrain.

Built on the 13L MP8 platform, the engine is available in Mack Pinnacle axle forward and axle back models.

“This engine is all about power and performance,” said Roy Horton, Mack director of product marketing. “The MP8 505C+ is an excellent option for customers seeking a lower-displacement engine, which saves weight and improves fuel economy, but one that can also readily manage heavy loads across rigorous terrain.”
