A paperless proof of delivery system for automobile carriers developed by POD Technologies has been adopted by ATC Logistics. The system provides real-time signature capture and vehicle inspection reports using handheld wireless devices. ATC delivers over 400,000 vehicles a year.

Liquid bulk carrier Quality Distribution Inc. has signed a contract to use Pegasus TransTech's Transflow Express truck stop scanning services. The fleet operates over 3,200 tanker trucks in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The fleet has also installed scanning stations at 110 terminal locations.

Truckload carrier Bestway Systems has moved to a fuel-optimization software system from Integrated Decision Support Corp. Fuel Expert optimize routings and fuel purchases while also alerting dispatchers to out-of-route miles or projected late arrivals. Lease Assurance Corp., a finance company specializing in funding and servicing operating leases for Class 8 highway equipment, will equip it's leased trucks with telematics systems from AirIQ. The location systems will help the company recover stolen or defaulted trucks with a minimum of delay, improving its cash flow, according to the leasing company.
