• The South Dakota Transportation Commission may consider reducing the 80 mph speed limit along stretches of I-90 and I-29, the Rapid City Journal reported. The report noted that commissioners are concerned about the effect of high speeds on truck tires.
• The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is pushing for a regulation that would require electronic speed limiters on big rigs, according to an Associated Press report in the Santa Cruz Sentinel. The agency is expected to contact states with speed limits that are higher than commercial truck tires can handle, according to the Sentinel.
