Forward Air acquires Service Express, Inc.

Forward Air Corp. has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Forward Air Solutions Inc., has acquired Service Express, Inc.

Forward Air Corp. has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Forward Air Solutions Inc., has acquired Service Express, Inc., a privately held pool distribution and related services provider based in Spartanburg, SC.

According to Forward Air, Service Express generated approximately $39 million in revenue in 2007. The transaction is expected to close today, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

“We are pleased to add another quality carrier, Service Express, to our Forward Air Solutions group,” said Bruce A. Campbell, chairman, president & CEO of Forward Air Corp. “Service Express is a high quality provider of pool distribution services with locations in the mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States, making it a perfect complement to our existing Forward Air Solutions geographic footprint.”
