U.S. sales of medium- and heavy-duty trucks climbed 15.7% in July compared with year-ago, as deliveries hit 35,966 units, WardsAuto.com reported today.
Wards’ data shows that nearly all Class 8 brands “enjoyed double-digit gains as their sales jumped 17.8% to 18,793 units, compared with 15,340 year-ago,” according to a news story posted by Paul Zajac, industry data manager for Wards' Information Products.
The report noted that Mack led all brands by scoring a 45.2% gain and driving its share up to 10.0% from 8.1%, compared to the year before.
It was also reported that both Kenworth and Peterbilt as well showed “solid gains” of 23.9% and 17.2%, respectively.
