Traffic is blocked in both directions on the New York State Thruway after a large crane collapsed on the Tappan Zee Bridge Tuesday afternoon.

The incident is causing epic tie-ups, and according to a Westchester Magazine report, all lanes are closed and at least one person has been injured. NBC New York reports that a New York State Police spokesperson said the crane, which was being used in the construction of the new bridge, came down near mile marker 15 just after noon.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, and NBC reports that traffic signs as far back as I-95 in New Jersey are advising drivers of the closure.
