Diesel Falls from Record High Sep 1, 2004 12:00 PM Truckers finally received some relief from pump prices last week as the national average for diesel fell 0.3 cents to $1.871 per gallon. This is just a hair short of last week’s record high of $1.874/gal, according to the Energy Information Administration. advertisement The West Coast region posted the most dramatic price drop, shedding one cent to $2.051/gal. The Rocky Mountain region saw the largest increase, up 1.9 cents $1.915/gal. The cheapest region to fill up is the Lower Atlantic, at $1.815.
