Champion Oil adds fuel economy calculator to website

July 16, 2013

Champion Oil has added a new fuel economy calculator for diesel fleets on its website. The tool is available at www.championbrands.com.

“The transportation industry is focused on improving fuel economy,” said Karl Dedolph, fleet specialist for Champion Oil. “Our new premium SAE 5W-30 UltraFleet API-CJ4 synthetic heavy duty diesel motor oil can play a big factor on helping customers achieve their fuel economy goals. Champion’s on-line fuel economy calculator helps fleet operators and drivers determine the potential savings that can be achieved by using a new lower viscosity heavy-duty motor oil.”

According to Champion, results from real-world field trials show that the new Champion oil reduces engine wear and corrosion while maintaining viscometric properties. It also provides enhanced protection to engine and exhaust system components, Champion said.

The testing also found an average of 3.3% and up to 4.5% fuel economy improvement over a conventional SAE 15W-40 API CJ-4 oil tested at an independent testing facility using the SAE J1321 fuel test protocol.
