Geotab telematics to channel Cummins diagnostic data

Engine maker Cummins is partnering with telematics firm Geotab to make its Cummins Connected Diagnostics application available via Geotab's fleet management offering.

Cummins said the Connected Diagnostics app will leverage data from Geotab's latest GO devices to provide immediate notification of urgent engine system faults to trucking fleets.

"Our joint solution will allow fleet managers to address faults within seconds, assisting with quicker mission management decisions, reducing progressive damage potential and improving efficient maintenance and repair scheduling,” noted Colin Sutherland, Geotab’s VP of sales, in a statement.

That will allow fleets using Geotab’s GO devices to easily access useful, real-time engine data, cut costs and make more informed business decisions, he added.
