Diesel Conversion Specialist is offering a Cummins kit to repower Ford trucks with 6.4L Power Stroke engines. The kit includes a 5.9L Cummins engine in 12-valve, 24-valve or common rail configuration.
The conversion can be done with the cab on the truck, Diesel Conversion Specialist said. No firewall, core support or floor pan modifications are necessary. The Ford radiator, fan shroud and intercooler are reused.
The conversion kit includes wiring harness with wiring instructions for 1989-1998 12-valve and 1998.5-2002 24-valve Cummins engines. A modified 6.4L Ford harness service is included with all 2003-2009 common rail Cummins conversion kits. Harness modification services for earlier engines are available upon request.
The kit also includes the 6.4L Torqshift automatic transmission which comes with an adapter plate kit that uses the stock Ford starter. Diesel Conversion Specialists will pre-calibrate the transmission controller for each specific truck and also tune the transmission based on datalogs the customer needs.
The stock Ford TCM tuning is currently an option for 2003-2007 conversions and is in development for 2008-2010 trucks.
