Daimler Trucks North American displayed several Freightliner chassis from its vocational vehicles product line-up at a press event in Napa, CA, this week including this 122SD Sleeper 8x8 AWD Extreme Heavy Haul Tanker with Truck Evolution body. Headed to work in the oil fields, the truck is designed to carry water for fracking operations. It is powered by a DD16 15.6L 600 HP engine driven through an 18-speed Eaton Fuller UltraShift PLUS. The 23,000 lb. front axle is from Meritor. The rear axle is a Meritor R-Series, single-pump 78-inch-80-inch wide-track, tridem.
This Freightliner 122SD Extreme Heavy Haul Tri-Drive tractor has a 70-inch, mid-roof XT sleeper. The matte black paint makes all the bright work like the "Magnum Moose Guard" front bumper really shine against the flat finish.
