Fleetowner 3925 Ntea 50th Wntea

Half-century mark

March 10, 2014

NTEA—“the Association for the Work Truck Industry”—is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
The association started in 1964 in Cincinnati, OH, as the Truck Equipment & Body Distributors Assn. with six member companies.  In 1978, the growing group moved to its current headquarters in suburban Detroit.

“Based on its changing industry-wide perspective and service offerings,” the organization was renamed the National Truck Equipment Assn. , or NTEA, in 1979.

NTEA, now 1,600 member organizations strong, describes itself as the leading organization representing the work truck industry.

NTEA’s birthday festivities will culminate during this month’s annual edition of its Work Truck Show in Indianapolis.
