HDM has introduced the Vister IC-2000 inverter/charger system, which the company said is the first idle-reduction system that meets SAE 1455 standards and OEM performance standards.
According to the company, idle-reduction systems have become more of a necessity for OEMs and fleet owners as anti-idling legislation has become more prevalent, and diesel APUs are unable to lower emissions to an acceptable level.
Battery-electric systems save an estimated 13.5 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year per truck, increasing fuel economy by up to 8%, the company said.
