Mack Trucks Inc. recently rolled out a new "Super Econodyne" specification package for its Pinnacle line of Class 8 highway tractors designed to boost fuel economy and performance simultaneously. Few changes are noticeable to the naked eye as almost all of the "Super Econodyne" improvements come from new customized software improving the engine-transmission-drive axle linkages.

Wow. I'm shocked to hear them put a gold dog on this truck and state it has a "pedigreed Mack drivetrain". With a Volvo engine and Volvo AMT transmission (and chassis), it's more Volvo than Mack. Sadly, Mack hasn't produced a pedigreed drivetrain in years.
Yes It has a golden BULLDOG on it because it has a MACK built MP-8 engine wich is built in one of MACK factories in HAGERSTOWN PA. So MACK and VOLVO share technologies, but each brand has unique engines and Automated Manuals..MACK MP-SERIES engines are way way diffrent than VOLVO'S D-Series..MACK'S MP-SERIES have MACK Cylinder Heads, MACK engine internals and MACK Sowfware and programing. Same goes to the M-DRIVE it is built with MACK specifications. Even engines for both companies spin in opposite directions. So who cares if MACK and VOLVO join forces to built a quality product???? I DO.
It is all about boosting fuel economy and i see this working so good here. This will help so many drivers and companies save so much money. They need to push this more. Great work here. ballet Toronto
