Truck component maker Meritor recently hosted a press event at its Fletcher, NC, axle assembly plant to demonstrate the features of its new SMARTandem 6x2 tractor axle. Currently in the midst of a two year field test with 15 customer trucks, Meritor doesn't expect to bring its SMARTandem 6x2 axle package to the market until late 2013.
