New carrying rack options and a fold-down cutting table are among the choices now available from MyGlassTruck.com for commercial glass carriers operating Sprinter vans. The options are part of the company’s line of aluminum glass carriers.
A base model roof rack includes three cross-members with vertical end posts to support ladders. The unit can be installed without drilling holes in the vehicle, according to the manufacturer.
A full-length welded stainless steel roof rack transports ladders, stock lengths of extrusion, moldings and other glazing supplies. With full-length side rails and a variety of optional tie-down hooks, the unit includes a metal cat walk that makes it easier and safer to walk or climb on the roof rack. An optional extended model is also available for storage over the cab and a retractable ladder for easy roof access is available.
A fold-down glass cutting table provides a sheltered, level work surface inside the Sprinter’s cargo bay. With a steel frame and retractable legs supporting a wood or aluminum top, the table folds down for storage.
For both security and storage reasons, MyGlassTruck.com is marketing an interior glass carrying rack made of 1/8 in. thick T6 aluminum with full-length integrated horizontal and vertical rubber padding along the posts and slats. It comes with three T6-adjust-a-poles and can be mounted on either the driver or passenger side of the van’s interior.
Glazers who may not want to permanently mount a carrier on their vehicle can purchase a demountable option that allows quick installation and removal of the carrier.
The company also offers a load-carrying under-body carrier designed to reduce vibration and ensure uniform weight displacement. It mounts directly to the Sprinter’s unibody undercarriage.
